Trial Lesson Experiences -
The Airport and Restaurant have only limited access to the public.
We started on Trial Lesson Experiences and Beginner Students two weeks ago. To maintain the Social Distancing conditions these lessons will, initially, be limited to only one-
We regret that, at this stage, we cannot include passengers/observers on these flights. See below.
When to Book
The Club is open 7 days a week all year to book your slot. At present slots are available Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and certain Tuesdays. Think about your travel time to the airport before booking an early slot. The weather is the most unpredictable element. Strong winds, poor visibility and low cloud may affect the possibility of light aircraft flights so make sure you leave a contact number for last minute postponements and ALWAYS phone before travelling to the airport for your flight. Own Personal Protective Equipment
The person taking the lesson/experience will be required to wear their own face covering at all times within the building and especially in the aircraft so please ensure you bring a serviceable, comfortable mask. In the airport wear a face covering, follow the one way system and observe social distancing.
If the person taking the lesson is under 14 years old please notify their age at the time of booking. An Instructor certified to work with young persons will be allocated. If required, a member of staff will come to the front of the building upon arrival to accompany young persons taking the Trial Lesson Experience.
The airport and restaurant have only limited opening to the public. For spectators, our aircraft are all parked close to the parking area fence so families and spectators will be able to see the budding pilots and their instructors boarding and taking off. Instructors and other Club staff are always happy to take photos to record the occasion and there is nothing to stop the “student” carrying and using their own camera both before, during and after the flight.
If you have a valid Voucher (or a valid Virgin/Acorne voucher) and would like to fly then phone the Club 01797 320734 (best times 09:30 to 16:00) to discuss a date and time for the lesson.
When phoning be ready with your Voucher number, Voucher Type and Expiry Date (as well as the PIN on Virgin/Acorne Vouchers) and a contact number for yourself. A date and time will be agreed subject to the above conditions and, of course, the weather.
